Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Darwin .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Darwin Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

Gale was very approachable and thoughtful, checking in and offering suggestions throughout the morning. It was a great outing with like minded people. Really nice to have the keepers bring out their charges just for us too, much appreciated.

I was bored one night and wanted to try a long exposure shot but I didn?t have a tripod so I set my camera up on the ledge of my balcony for a good angle of the city and so I can stabilise the camera for a nice clear shot without a tripod and it turned out great so I took the photo to Lightroom and played with the colours and brightness to bring life to an already lively photoI used a Canon Eos R50 with the 18-45mm kit lens I used a 10 second exposure with f14 and an iso100

During a rainy day, I was walking around the Deckchair Park, experimenting with a few shots. Suddenly, I noticed an empty ship deck ? quiet, cinematic, and full of mood.I quickly launched my DJI Mini 5 Pro and captured some stunning clips. Here?s one of my favorite shots from that moment.

This picture of a Barnyard Owl was taken during a meetup at the Wildlife Park with the Darwin Photography Club. I had only just recently bought a 100-400 lens and was keen to start taking more wildlife and bird photos. Going along with this group was just what I needed. The host was very helpful and I met some wonderful people with similar interests. The Barnyard Owl was my favourite of the day. It was taken with an OM-1 100mm. 1/1600 sec F10 iso 4000 shutter priority

This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
